A Tribute to The Legacy of Mitch Hedberg

This comment was left on the blog a couple days ago, on an old post that we had about the passing of Mitch Hedberg.

In the last few months I have spent a LOT of time in my car travelling back and forth to my folks house. My Mother was diagnosed in mid-November with Stage IV lung cancer. By the end of December, home hospice had stepped in to help us all. I logged a lot of hard (emotional) miles finding respite and laughter listening to the comedy channels on Sirius. This is where I immediately fell in love with a comic I had no prior exposure to, Mitch Hedberg. After Mom’s passing I decided I wanted to track down some of his work…it has truly been a salve to my soul. Of course, I had no way of knowing Mitch was gone. What a legacy he has left! God bless you, Mitch, for the joy you will forever give us. My prayers to those he loved and who loved him. I am so sorry that I discovered him posthumously. What a wonderful delivery. Sweet and funny and spot-on. Thanks for helping me thru a rough patch.

First and foremost please accept our most sincere sympathy in regard to your Mom’s passing. This is such a difficult time for you and we are so grateful that our Son brought you some sort of break from the sadness.

We appreciated reading your Tribute to the Legacy of Mitch. He was indeed a wonderful comic but, above all, he was a very much loved person.

Again, Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.
