evil bush steals kerry ‘bounce’

what is bounce? why is it important?

a bounce is a quick upswing in the polls occasioned by some particular event or cause, such as your party’s national convention. Convention bounces don’t necessarily last, but they almost always happen. Michael Dukakis had a convention bounce of something like fifteen points in 1988. [link]

'my, what a beautiful womb this is' cried john kerry, the gleeful sperm

the diabolical george w bush has done it again! this week, he took a break from stealing iraq’s oil reserves and stole what was supposed to be john kerry’s 8-12 point bounce in the polls. one poll showed bush gaining four points on the democratic candidate, who (you might not have known this), is a VIETNAM WAR VETERAN (specifically, he was a “war criminal” if you asked him in the 70s, but he’s a “war hero” if you ask him today).

but let’s look on the bright side of the polling for senator kerry! despite his losses to bush, he did gain a single percentage point on ralph nader. every little bit helps.

perhaps americans saw through the blatant dishonesty of the convention speakers, particularly former presidents clinton and carter. william “BJ” clinton claimed he and the democrats are the party of “values” (i’m not making this up!) and equated george w bush’s enlisting in the national guard to his own draft dodging (they’re the same! no difference!). jimmy carter claimed america stood “proud” after 9/11. (really? i don’t remember feeling proud…) he also claimed our response to the terrorists was “unilateral”. (which, er, is, um, accurate…if you throw out the nearly 40-nations in the coalition that helped us enforce UN resolution 1441).

perhaps americans are still wondering who, exactly, john kerry is. he spoke mercilessly–5000 torturous words–about his 4 months in vietnam, but covered his 20 year senate career in only 20 words. kerry has been in the senate 60 times longer than he was in vietnam. yet, when he pleads, “judge me by my record!” he is asking us to look–not at his extensive voting record that constitutes his life’s work–but on an experience that lasted about as long as your child’s last summer vacation.

one writer describes the reaction to kerry’s constant “playing-up” of his vietnam story, particularly the salute he gave at the beginning of his convention speech:

“given the ceaseless, overblown, “for goodness’ sake will you talk about something else?” nature of Kerry’s Vietnam story, “the salute” offered us nothing new. It was just another silly gimmick pushing the same old theme.”

then he describes kerry’s bounce:

No bounce at all. Zero. Zip. Nada. Within the margin of error in all the polls. Up two-to-four in the Newsweek poll. Margin of error. Down four in the CNN-USA Today [gallup] poll. Also margin of error, but seriously, down four??? [link]

maybe the american people aren’t as stupid as the democrats think we are.

    Great post.

Kerry’s convention speech was bizarre in that it focused so much on Vietnam and the 60’s (“We changed the world!”). Odd for someone who believes that America’s best days are yet to come to talk so much about the past.

Beautiful, just beautiful. My thoughts exactly. It is very hard to take Kerry seriously. The thing with his war medals alone is enough to discount him as someone to be trusted. Who wants to trust someone who testifies that his fellow soldiers committed war crimes, gets his fellow vets to toss their medals, but then keeps his own, tossing only the ribbons, just in case he might need them for his future political career? It is infuriating that he then harks back to the VietCong days in order to portray himself as hawkish enough to satiate America in 2004.

  3. Look At Kerry’s Record!

[…] john kerry has always supported the US military. just check out this video. it is proof that we are probably taking kerry’s most recent comments (implying US troops are stupid) out of context. because john kerry would never disparage the troops. john kerry reported for duty in august 2004 and has never looked back!
