Health Care We Can Believe In™

Michelle Obama apparently was involved in “redirecting” poor folks without insurance away from her hospital.

Sen. Barack Obama’s wife and three close advisers have been involved with a program at the University of Chicago Medical Center that steers patients who don’t have private insurance — primarily poor, black people — to other health care facilities.

I can only imagine the Obama’s campaigns complaints if this had been a hospital that Cindy “I Have 10 Houses” McCain had been running.

They are redirecting patients to maximize the assistance given to patients; bagging on the program for political points would be a big mistake.

Actually, I agree with you. Nevertheless, I can only imagine if Cindy McCain sat on a board and did something similar… The DNC talking points write themselves “Rich wife of John McCain throws needy people on the street to pump up profits.”

Michelle Obama’s actions show that the hospital health care system is broken and if you’re in management of a hospital you end up doing what she did, no matter your liberal or conservative leanings.
