One of my childhood heroes and favorite baseball player of all-time, Cal Ripken, was elected to the Hall of Fame on Tuesday.
Aside from being a revolutionary shortstop and all-around awesome ball player, he lived a life of honor in the public eye. I’m not sure anyone is more deserving of a place at Cooperstown.
